Jack Rovner has been named President, RCA Records, it was announced today by Robert Jamieson, President and CEO, North America, BMG Entertainment.

Rovner, whose appointment is effective immediately, will report to Jamieson.
Rovner's career spans two decades in which he has worked with some of today's biggest musical acts. As RCA Record's Executive Vice President and General Manager since 1995, he has played a key role in transforming RCA into one of the music industry's most successful labels while developing the recording careers of such top musical artists as the Dave Matthews Band, Christina Aguilera, David Gray, Tyrese and Vertical Horizon, among others. During Rovner's tenure, the label has experienced dramatic growth with record-breaking sales results and increased market share.
"Jack is a first class music executive," said Jamieson. "His unique understanding of artist development and his passion for music have been instrumental to RCA's great success. RCA Records could not be in better hands to continue building on our artists' and label's tremendous accomplishments."
Before joining RCA, Rovner served as Senior Vice President at Arista Records, where he was responsible for Marketing, Artist Development, Publicity and Video for such artists as Sarah McLachlan, TLC and Annie Lennox. From 1981 to 1991, he held a number of positions in Columbia Records' Marketing Department, where he rose to become Vice President, Marketing and developed campaigns for Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan and Wynton Marsalis, among others.
In a related matter, Jamieson announced that Windham Hill, Private Music, BMG Classics and Jazz, formerly part of the RCA Music Group, will now report to a soon-to-be-named Executive Vice President, General Manager.
