Bruce Springsteen has received this year's Kennedy Center Honors.

US president Barack Obama has paid tribute to rock icon Bruce Springsteen at an awards event in Washington.
The singer was attending a black tie dinner on Sunday evening (December 6th) as one of the five recipients of the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors.
As he welcomed the rocker, Obama said: "On a day like this I remember, I'm the president, but he's The Boss."
Other honoraries who received the award this year, which is handed to Americans who have influenced US culture, were actor Robert de Niro, film director Mel Brooks, opera star Grace Bumbry and jazz musician Dave Brubeck.
Speaking at the event, Springsteen said: "We worked really hard for our music to be part of American life and our fans' lives."
Last month, the New York Post claimed that the musician is currently writing his autobiography and said it could lead to fierce competition among publishers hoping to acquire its rights.
