John Lydon has defended his decision to become the face of a butter brand.

Punk legend John Lydon has revealed that his recent foray into the world of advertising helped to fund the comeback of Public Image Ltd (PiL).
Speaking to the Camden New Journal, the frontman claimed that the money he received from the Country Life butter advents was used to pay for the group's tour in December.
In addition, Lydon said that he is "living on the lucky end of a shoestring" until the band hits the road.
He also defended his decision to act as the face of Country Life, telling the newspaper: "I'm promoting a British product which I'm very proud of. Anything I can do to help British industry is fine by me and in return you've got PiL."
Furthermore, Lydon praised Take That man Gary Barlow, explaining that he saw the singer on the Jonathan Ross Show and thought there was nothing to criticise him about.
In September, the punk icon announced that PiL will start their tour on December 15th at the Birmingham O2 Academy, before playing dates in Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester and London.
