Iggy Pop has said that The Stooges will go on without late guitarist Ron Asheton.

The Stooges will return to the music world in 2010 in spite of the death of the band's guitarist, according to Iggy Pop.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, the frontman said that spirit of axeman Ron Asheton "lives on" within the band after his death in Michigan in January this year.
Iggy revealed that 60-year-old place in the line-up will be taken by original guitarist James Williamson, who has not played with The Stooges for almost 30 years.
"We're bringing The Stooges back next year," the singer told the broadcaster.
"They've been rehearsing more without me than with me because I've been doing other things this year."
He also claimed that the band still feel their bond with Asheton, because the group spent so long playing music and doing "extra curriculur things" together.
Last week, Jarvis Cocker dismissed recent rumours that Pulp will reform to play Glastonbury next year, telling Teletext's Planet Sound that media reports "twisted" his comments to suggest a reunion.
