The next Mogwai album will be backed by an extensive tour, it has been claimed.

Mogwai intend to tour extensively after they release their sixth record, it has been revealed.
Guitarist and vocalist Stuart Braithwaite told BBC Radio 6 Music pointed out that the group did not back 2008's The Hawk Is Howling with many live shows, but hope to change this when their next effort comes out.
"I think that our attitudes to activities around the record coming out might change a bit because we'll be really thinking, 'We need to push this'," he explained.
Braithwaite added that this change in attitude is likely a result of Mogwai self-releasing their next album, as they will not be able to rely on a label to promote the record.
He also told the broadcaster that the album is still in its demo stages, but the band plans to start recording it in the opening months of next year.
Earlier this month, Pavement guitarist Scott 'Spiral Stairs' Kannberg told NME.com that the band could return to the UK as part of their 2010 comeback tour.
