Andy Rourke was not fired from The Smiths by a handwritten note, according to Morrissey.

Morrissey has denied that he booted Andy Rourke from The Smiths by sending a postcard.
Last week, the bassist told EyeWeekly.com that Morrissey left a postcard on his car dashboard which told him the band no longer needed his services.
However, the singer has hit back by issuing a statement to True-To-You.net which refutes the allegation.
"I would like to state to anyone interested in the truth of this matter that no such postcard was ever written by me," he explained.
The frontman also said that a note was not placed in the musician's car with his consent and said Rourke's "recurring" is making him "naturally irked".
In the EyeWeekly.com interview, Rourke also admitted that it is strange to have his career defined by the time he reach 23 - the age he parted company with The Smiths.
He pointed out that that he has since played with a host of artists, including Sinead O'Connor, The Pretenders, Killing Joke and Morrissey, on his solo work.
