The Cribs will play Leeds and Reading, but not at the upcoming festivals.

The Cribs intend to throw their own versions of the Leeds and Reading festivals, it has been revealed.
According to the NME.com, the Wakefield-based band will stage free shows in both towns at HMV stores, even though they are not playing the actual event.
Gary Jarman, bassist and singer with the four-piece, explained that the band has developed a "bizarre relationship" with the Leeds and Reading festivals, playing them for the first time in 2002 and becoming regular appearances on the bill.
"So after headlining the NME/Radio 1 tent last year we thought that was a great place to leave it for a year, and not play it for the first time in god knows how long," he elaborated.
Jarman also told the news provider that The Cribs told the news provider it would be fun to play the festivals' host town even if they are not signed up for the bashes themselves.
Recently, the promoters of the Leeds and Reading festivals warned music lovers that scam websites are sending phishing emails in a bid to gain their personal details.
