Tom Smith says the band's third offering is a radical departure from their usual style.

Editors singer Tom Smith has told fans that they are in for a surprise when they hear the band's new album.
In an interview with BBC 6 Music, the star said that In This Light And On This Evening is radically different from their previous two offerings, with the record heavily influenced by sci-fi.
He said the group experimented a lot more with the new material than they have done before, with the synthesizer being incorporated into many of the tracks.
"It is very different from previous Editors records, there are things it has in common with a couple of songs from the first album. But I see those records as a progression from the last. This one isn't," he told Music Week.
Smith added that the production of the disc was taken care of by Flood, who has also worked with The Killers and U2.
In other news, Smith recently wrote on the band's official forum that he is growing tired of questions as to why the group's music is so dark.
