Mattie Safer is no longer The Rapture's bass player.

The bass player with The Rapture has quit the band, it has been revealed.
In a post on their blog, the group said that bassist Mattie Safer decided to part ways with the group earlier in the year, but this has not held back The Rapture's creativity.
"At the beginning of April, our buddy Mattie Safer decided to leave the band. We are sad to see him go but it seems it is the best for all of us," the message explained.
However, it also said that the band's remaining members - vocalist and guitarist Luke Jenner, drummer Vito Roccoforte and keyboard player Gabriel Andruzzi - have gone a "creative tear" since the departure.
The post revealed that The Rapture have been working on new material at a makeshift studio in Brooklyn and have created some material that they are "damn excited" about.
In addition, it was claimed that music lovers in Australia will be the first to hear the new songs, as the band intends to debut them when they play the Parklife festival in late September.
Recently, Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor told the Philippine Daily Inquirer that the band will not be quitting the music world, but will halt their relentless touring schedule.
