Muse have been discussing their long-awaited new album 'The Resistance', revealing they used slap bass on one of the tracks.
Muse's new album features slap bass.
The trio decided to use the "uncool" instrument - mostly featured on 80s funk records - on the track 'Unnatural Selection', which features on forthcoming LP 'The Resistance' because it fitted better than using guitars.
Bassist Chris Wolstenhome revealed: "I know it's probably not ever been cool to play slap bass. but on that song it just seemed to work, so we kept it in."
The record -the tracklisting for which was announced on the group's Twitter page - ends with an epic three-part track, 'Exogenesis', and frontman Matt Bellamy admits he had to persuade his bandmates that it was the right way to end the album.
He said: "I kind of had to get the other two to trust me a bit with that one. But I think it's turned out amazing."
