Arctic Monkeys want to dramatically change their sound to break a record.
Arctic Monkeys want to be known as "Sheffield's best reggae band".
The ''Brianstorm' rockers- who hail from the Yorkshire city - are planning to rebrand themselves for their third album after developing a new sound whilst recording the LP in New York.
Drummer Matt Helders said: "We're going to be the best reggae band from Sheffield. It's like getting into 'The Guinness Book of Records' by doing something nobody else has ever done. Like being the loudest person ever to say 'Colonic!'.
Singer Alex Turner added: "That taught us to pick an area where no one else really goes. That's why the album is now mostly reggae."
Despite being in New York, the group claim they had no time to have fun because they were so busy working.
Bassist Nick O'Malley told Loaded magazine: "We haven't gone out much because we've been in the studio until three in the morning most nights. As soon as you get up, you're on your way back!
