A former roadie of Jimi Hendrix claims the star was murdered in a new book.

A new book claims that Jimi Hendrix was murdered as part of an insurance scam.
James 'Tappy' Wright alleges in Rock Roadie that the Voodoo Child star was killed by his manager, Michael Jeffery, who confessed to him a year after the musician's death.
Wright says that Jeffery revealed his 'crime' when drunk one night and said he killed Hendrix when he was with some friends.
In the book, the former roadie claimed the manager said: "We went round to Monika's hotel room, got a handful of pills and stuffed them into his mouth ... then poured a few bottles of red wine deep into his windpipe."
He also suggests that the manager murdered the 27-year-old guitarist because he would "lose everything" if the star dropped him and claimed Jeffery said he had taken out a $2million (£1.2million) life insurance policy on Hendrix.
Recently, legendary music producer Phil Spector was sentenced to at least 19 years in prison for the second-degree murder of Lana Clarkson, who was shot at his home six years ago.
