Oasis picked up the Best British Band gong at the Shockwaves NME Awards.

The Shockwaves NME Awards named Oasis as Best British Band at last night's (February 25th) ceremony.
However, the accolade was the band's only win on the night, albeit the award's most prestigious prize, despite them being nominated for seven gongs.
Oasis were not present to be handed their awarded, although NME.com reports that they submitted an acceptance video showing them with former ceremony host Russell Brand.
In the clip, guitarist Noel Gallagher joked: "This is ironic, we're being given Best British Band by the second best British comedian. Thanks to all the readers who've voted ... This has turned into a right bad idea."
Other nominees in the category were Bloc Party, Muse, Radiohead and The Last Shadow Puppets.
Winners in last night's awards included Best International Band for The Killers, Pete Doherty as Best Solo Artist and Glastonbury was named the Best Live Event.
Meanwhile, Amy Winehouse received the Worst Dressed nod and the Jonas Brothers' record A Little Bit Longer was recognised as the Worst Album, while former US president George W Bush was revealed to be the Villain of the Year.
