Glasvegas, Franz Ferdinand and Friendly Fires have been lined up to play the Shockwaves NME Awards on February 25th.

The groups will take to the stage for short sets, before moving aside to allow The Cure to perform a half-hour set to mark being crowned Godlike Geniuses in the ceremony.

It was also announced that the event, which is held at the London Brixton Academy, will be hosted by comedian Mark Watson.
