The forthcoming album from U2 has been influenced and inspired by Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and White Stripes frontman Jack White, the band have revealed.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, The Edge said he spent time with both artists during the making of the documentary film It Might Get Loud.
He stated he saw the pair perform together and the quality of what they produced influenced him when recording No Line on the Horizon, the group's 12th studio album.
"I was just fascinated with seeing how Jimmy played those riffs so simply, and with Jack as well," he told the news provider.
Speaking about the disc, frontman Bono revealed the track Cedars of Lebanon will see him sing from the point of view of a war correspondent.
Meanwhile, U2 yesterday (January 8th) issued a statement warning fans about tickets which are being sold for some of the band's gigs this summer.
The group said no dates have been confirmed and, therefore, people should avoid buying them.
