Jarvis Cocker has spoken about the art of lyric writing.

Pulp star Jarvis Cocker has given a lecture on lyrics, it has been reported.
According to NME.com, the singer presented the talk, entitled Saying The Unsayable, as part of Manchester's In The City music event yesterday (October 7th).
The lecture, which has been given earlier at this year's Brighton Festival, examined the writing of lyrics and discussed the role they have in pop music, analysing his own work as well as examples from The Beatles, David Bowie and Leonard Cohen.
Jarvis also played some of his own songs on an acoustic guitar and revealed the event's founder inspired him when writing the sermon, the news provider reports.
"The reason I'm here is because originally the idea of this was planted in my head by [Factory Records founder] Tony Wilson," he told the audience.
Last month, Jarvis announced he will embark on a five-date tour of the UK, starting in home town Sheffield on November 25th.
