The Verve have quashed rumours of another split even though tensions are said to be high between Richard Ashcroft and guitarist Nick McCabe.
The band will be playing this weekend’s V Festival, confirmed a band spokesman. McCabe apparently flew home separately from the rest of the band after they played Summer Sonic Festival in Japan last week, but rumours of a split have been refuted.
The spokesman said: "Contrary to rumours circulating, Nick McCabe cut his finger on piece of glass in the dressing room after the gig in Japan. He was treated by medics at the scene and then flew home. He's fine except for sore finger and that won't affect their appearance at V at the weekend".
The Verve will headline V Festival this weekend, playing Weston Park in Staffordshire on Saturday and Hylands Park in Chelmsford on Sunday.
