Unsigned bands from across the British Isles are being offered the chance to perform alongside their heroes this summer as part of a major talent competition launching this week.
Acts across the country are being given the chance to play a full hour-long set onstage at the Alive festival on July 10th, 2008 in Lisbon in front of a crowd of almost 100,000. The winning band will be part of a line-up which includes Bob Dylan, Rage Against The Machine, Ben Harper, CSS, Neil Young and many more.
Music website Soundtribes.com are running the contest, which will also offer bands flights, accommodation and all the rock star excesses, with VIP tickets also up for grabs for music fans registering with the site.
The Optimus Alive 08 Festival takes place this year from July 10-12, with headline slots from the aforementioned Bob Dylan, RATM and Neil Young.
