Pete Doherty is out of jail today after serving almost one third of his sentence for drug and driving offences.
The Babyshambles star told reporters outside Wormwood Scrubs prison in White City, West London, life was "a lot of gangsters and Radio 4" during his four week spell at Her Majesty's Pleasure, adding he was glad to be out.
After showing off a certificate showing he had passed a drugs test while inside, Doherty responded to questions asking him if he had taken drugs while in jail by saying, "Well, I knew it was going to be a bit rough to start with, with the overcrowding and the medical facilities."
"Although they do their best - they are good, they can't really cater for the average junkie."
Doherty added he was looking forward to spending time with his cats and drinking a rum and coke.
His postponed concert at the Royal Albert Hall, is expected to be rescheduled soon, and his planned appearance at this year's Glastonbury Festival now looks like it will go ahead as planned.
