Sir Paul McCartney will pay Heather Mills £24.2m in her divorce settlement, it was revealed today.
Both McCartney and Mills were present today for a lunchtime hearing at London's High Court, and after failing to agree a figure in court last month it was left to the judge to determine the final figure.
As part of the deal, Mills will receive £14 million personally and £2.5 million to buy a house in London. Assets of £7.8 million were also awarded to the former model and charity campaigner, with Sir Paul also requested to pay their four-year-old daughter Beatrice's nanny and school fees and will pay Beatrice £35,000 a year.
Surrounded by a press scrum on the steps of the high court, Mills said she was "glad it's over" and described the pay-out as "an incredible result to secure mine and my daughter's future".
To put me and Beatrice sadly through this - it's been incredibly sad," she added. "So we're very, very, very pleased - and what I'd like to say - being a campaigning girl - is anybody wanting to go through a divorce - try your hardest, man or woman, to settle it immediately."
The summary judgement released by the court revealed that Ms Mills had previously sought £125 million and been offered £15.8 million by Sir Paul.
McCartney and 40-year-old Mills first met at a charity event in the early 2000's and married in 2002. They announced their split in 2006.
