Kasabian will headline this year's Creamfields festival, it was announced today.
The band are the first name to be confirmed for the dance fest, which has moved in recent years to feature a bigger line-up of pop and rock bands to compliment their vast DJ arenas, and Kasabian have been chosen to head-up the festival's 10 year anniversary.
The band are currently working on the follow-up to 2006's "Empire", but have agreed to headline the Cheshire event, which is a two-day affair this summer - running over the weekend of August 23-24.
The band's frontman Tom Meigham said "We have heard great things about the festival over the years and it is an honour to be asked to headline on its 10th anniversary. It will be great to bring our sound to a fresh northern crowd."
