Reformed boy band Take That could bag a whopping four Brit Awards this year after the nominations were unveiled last night in London.
The pop four piece led the field alongside British singers Mika and Leona Lewis, who both also scooped four nominations each. Producer Mark Ronson, Kate Nash, the Arctic Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs also did well, with three nods each at yesterday's announcement at the Roundhouse in North London.
This year's ceremony will be held at Earls Court in London on 20 February and hosted by Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne,
Take That look odds on favourite in the Best British Group category, going head to head with Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, indie favourites Editors and pop group Girls Aloud, while the reformed band also aim to land the best British live act award, best British album and Best British single.
The latter award meanwhile will be a fight between Kaiser Chiefs ('Ruby'), Sugababes ('About You Now'), Mark Ronson featuring Amy Winehouse ('Valerie'), Kate Nash ('Foundations'), The Hoosiers ('Worried About Ray'), James Blunt ('1973') and Mutya Buena ('Real Girl').
Mika, who shot to stardom in 2007 is in the running for best British male artist, best single for Grace Kelly, breakthrough act and best album for 'Life In Cartoon Motion', while X Factor winner Leona Lewis's is hopeful of picking up best album, best British female artist, breakthrough act, and single for Bleeding Love.
Its a big night as well for singer/songwriter Natasha Khan, aka Bat For Lashes, who is nominated for best British female and the breakthrough act categories.
"I was really not expecting it - to be on the same list as PJ Harvey is very bizarre and amazing," Khan told the BBC.
Adele will receive the Critics' Choice Award while Paul McCartney will receive the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award.
