Although we're still yet to see Kylie Mingoue's cameo role in this Christmas's Doctor Who special, another pop star looks to be joining the space-travelling series for a guest role.
Lily Allen is reportedly being lined up for a walk on role by playing Doctor Who's assistant, according to the Sun newspaper this week. The role is currently played by comedian Catherine Tate, but Allen could put herself forward for the role as she looks to break into TV.
"Lily is multi-talented. She comes from more of a TV background than a musical one. After (her) chat show we hope she'll take over from Catherine as Dr Who's assistant," a BBC source reveals.
"We've talked to her and she was excited by the idea. With Lily and someone younger and edgier in the lead role it could open up the show to a new trendier crowd."
