
A charity fund set up by Colombian pop star Shakira has pledged $40m (£20m) to families affected by natural disasters in South America
Latin America in Solidarity Action, which was set up with Nobel Prize laureate Gabriel Garcia Marquez, aims to reduce child deaths in poverty stricken areas of South America. The charity's latest donation is offering support for victims of an earthquake in Peru and a hurricane in Nicaragua.
