Britney Spears is reportedly in talks for a spectacular opening performance at the MTV Video Awards, Sound Generator can reveal.
Despite her increasingly erratic behaviour and reports of badly choreographed video shoots (with Spears dressed in poorly considered outfits), the pop star feels she can return to the limelight in a big way by making a splash in Las Vegas on September 9th.
The rumour is that Spears' comeback could be one of the biggest hits - or flops - in MTV Video Music Awards history, and the network are obviously keen to court the publicity. A representative for MTV said, "I cannot confirm or deny it."
Britney Spears famously got temperatures soaring at the 2003 Music Video Awards, held at Radio City Music hall in New York, by sharing a kiss with Madonna - who subsequently shared a kiss with Christina Aguilera - overshadowing most of the other action that year.
