Sweden, that birthplace of so many above average (but very few great) alternative acts, spews forth yet another bunch of wannabes, in the form of Stockholm's 'Shout Out Louds'.
'Very Loud' is their debut UK release, and not at all a bad introduction to the band. The first thing that strikes you though (and surely this can't be intentional) is their similarity in sound and style to U2. There's more than an echo of Bono's earnest tones in singer Adam Olenius's vocals, while passages of the track recall the Irish group's 'Without You'.
Shout Out Louds won't get anywhere merely aping the style of the world's biggest group, so let's hope they have one or two more tricks up their sleeve.
