Hothouse Flowers return to the London stage tonight after a 10 year absence from the live scene.
As they entered the stage the near capacity crowd roared with delight and remembered their youth. Hothouse flowers have been on the road for nearly 20years, and based on past performance's a great evening was certainly to be had by all.
Opening with an old crowd favourite "Giving it all away" the place erupted into a foot tapping good time and after cracking through a few more Hothouse standards you get the wonderful feeling of just how talented these guys are and their "give it all" attitude to the crowd.
A change in tempo welcomes in the outstanding" Sweet Marie". You could have heard a pin drop, as the stunning heart felt composition unveiled its beauty - a song that truely bites every time. Then we get to "do go" at this point everybody is singing at the top of their voices Liam decides to invite the crowd on to the stage and keep dancing. The whole place is cranking, it's alive with dancing, and laughter and just good fun as we all enjoy this brilliant performance. What a rare treat!
Apart from not performing some of their more crowd friendly hits Hothouse Flowers proved they still have it, the range of songs, the incredible energy and total participation with the crowd made the Flowers once again an outstanding gig experience.
