Near was formed in January 2007 in Ipswich, Suffolk. Motivated and influenced by a number of great rock bands two brothers decided to form their own band to follow their dreams. The first demo was recorded, produced and mixed by them at a home studio. Their music is filled with all sorts of interesting forms and textures. It can be characterized as colorful, modern, alternative edged, melodic rock. Near has a heavy sensibility with serious instrumentals and emotional vocals. Their music is well combined with spiritual oriented lyrics.While the music of the duo is deeply personal, they search every inch of their sonic spectrum to create songs that appeal on many different levels. Their music appeals to listeners of pop, hard rock, alternative and metal.
