In Like Flynn; the new name for the band that was Namaste - still the same good looking members and still rocking fucking hard!
Sam Marlow, Mike Alvarez, Chris Francombe and Dan Gray had been playing together for a year and had already made a name for themselves on the London scene, and had toured in various places in Europe when came to play a few shows in Vienna.
What Namaste saw there, Namaste liked: the girls were gorgeous, the crowds were rocking and diggin’ ‘The ‘Sté’, and the beer was cheap and strong! Namaste fell in love. So, after recording a few demo tracks at Vienna’s ‘What’s That Noize’ studio, the band agreed to come back and record an album with the lovely gents at crater8records.
The resulting album was entitled: ‘Outside Is Endless’ and was well recieved in Austria, getting some great reviews. There was a distinctivness to the sound which was Namaste...
“Muse, Incubus, Tool, but also older stuff such as Led Zeppelin say hello, but with the headstrong mixture of styles a new musical feeling arises.” (Slam)
After returning to London, the boys started to experiance a change in attitude to everything, but especially towards Music; listening to a wider range, approaching it in different ways.
Anyway... ultimatly the band decided they weren't 17 year old hippies anymore and didn't feel a strong conection to the name Namaste any more (plus it's pretty annoying when no one can pronounce, spell or understand your name). Also, wanting a fresh momentum, the decision was taken to change name to In Like Flynn...
Still taking their explosive live show all over the UK and Europe, a new chapter starts here.
