Since 1992, MxPx have been playing spiky, tight punk music. They formed when they met at high school in Washington State, and originally called themselves Magnified Plaid, though this was short lived as it was difficult to fit onto posters. They signed to Tooth and Nail records in 1993 and released debut album 'Pokinatcha' in 1994. Guitarist Andy Husted soon left the band and was replaced by Tom Wisniewski, who continues to feature in the line-up alongside Mike Herrera and Yuri Ruley. They released two more albums for the Tooth and Nail before transferring to A&M Records where they made 'Slowly Goin the Way of the Buffalo' and 'The Ever Passing Moment'. The signed with SideOneDummy Records soon after and released their seventh album 'Panic' in 2005. MxPx then made 'Secret Weapon' in 2007. The band are famed for their Christianity and have made an effort to put this across in their lyrics.
