Originally formed in Southampton in 2006, indie rock’n’roll band Moral Soul have established themselves as one of the UK’s finest emerging independent acts.
Having recently played the Greenpeace stage at Glastonbury 2009, they are currently working on their hotly anticipated second album. The latest single, ‘Violence’, is scheduled for release in the autumn.
To date Moral Soul have played some impressive gigs, supporting the likes of The Happy Mondays, Babyshambles and Alphabeat, and last year were nominated for a Red Stripe Music Award and an Indy Award. 2008 also saw two of their tracks enter the UK’s indie chart, with ‘Angel’ hitting number 4.
From the beginning, the band has adopted a DIY approach to the music industry, recording and releasing their debut album ‘Seven’ on their own label Splendid! Records back in 2007. The album was rapturously received and its catchy riffs and soulful melodies have made it a radio favourite with regular airplays and live sessions on stations around the UK.
