Mentira influences

Mentira
"Boom! "
"What a great contagious sound, fantastic vocals and tight instrumentation. I really like "dark hour" the best of your songs on myspace....but they are all good. Your looks are also very marketable." (Music Business Connection)

"With a confident, anthemic feel to it, 'Cold' is a good place to start when listening to these guys, with a style placed between middle of the road rock and satisfyingly heavy metal. This certainly will help to attract more fans, and the guitar solo to end the track is the proverbial icing on the cake. And a good one, at that! 'Dark Hour' will be the band's debut single, and is in a heavier vein to 'Cold'. Yet the in-your-face style will win a lot of fans, and will set their stance from the start. 'Cirkus' is similar here, with a heavy emphasis on the drum intro. A slower building track, it is darker, and offers sufficient quality to complete a solid 3 song offering." "Leicester's premiere metal group...well entitled to be proud of their strong vocals and melodies that set them apart from so many other generic metal bands of the same generation." (The Ripple)

"Mentira's set of metal songs brought cheers from the audience who clearly appreciated the local band's roaring bass riffs, skillful guitar work and engine-like drumming... why can't all gigs be like this? (www.artsinleicestershire.co.uk)

"I can't remember the last time I compared a vocalist to Faith No More's, Mike Patton but Mentira's Gareth, the singer/guitarist with Leicester metal outfit Mentira (formerly Deceptikon) is exactly that on their EP 'Dark Hour' which is a major plus in my book. The EP delivers some monster, crushing metal riffs on tracks like 'Dark Hour' and 'Cirkus' along with twin guitars and gut shaking bass. All good metal fare with the spin of Gareth and his unique edged vocals over the top. As a metal fan I have to give the thumbs up to Deceptikon, especially as they're not getting dragged into the Trivium/Avenged Sevenfold style stereotypical formats and I desperately want to big them up some more."(http://www.musicreveiw.com)
