"Imagine if AXEL ROSE and MADONNA had a musical baby - it would surely be MELODEE ROCKMORE! With powerful, melodic vocals combined with rocking guitars, funky bass lines and hard-hitting drums, the music is pop-rock with a beautiful twist."
==MELODEE ROCKMORE==
Melodee Rockmore is not your ordinary singer-songwriter, nor is she a ‘wannabe-popstar,’ she is a performer with a passion. Born in the UK to a Cypriot family, she was brought up in a quiet town in Hampshire where the closest thing to the Mediterranean is Costa Coffee. Using the stage as an outlet for her frustrations and emotions, she has shown the drive and ability to achieve big things by already gaining airplay and press in the UK, USA, and across Europe…including a front cover spread in the Cyprus Daily Mail ‘Seven’ – a space previously occupied by Angelina Jolie and Cameron Diaz.
Combining her cultural routes with her love of rock and pop, Rockmore has evolved her own style, described by many as a ‘breath of fresh air.’ With powerful, melodic vocals combined with rocking guitars, funky bass lines and hard-hitting drums, the music is pop-rock with a beautiful twist. Her influences are wide spread: Rock, pop, folk, traditional Greek music, and hip-hop are all in Melodee’s collection, but bands and artists such as No Doubt, Queen and Michael Jackson are on constant rotation.
Melodee Rockmore delivers an energetic and heart-filled live show with her own dedicated band, and together they have already played gigs and festivals all over the UK and Europe – including shows in The Half Moon and Dublin Castle in London, and recently headlining a festival to 4000 people in her native Cyprus.
Her new lead track, the heart-felt and powerful “Come Back” - written about the loss of her Grandfather – is a question and answer between them in an imaginary dialogue, whilst her song “Writing On The Wall” was prompted by a war memorial at the recent remembrance days service. Both songs feature on her debut EP which Rockmore has just released on her own independent label – with her song “Stuck By Me” already reaching number 3 in the UK Unsigned Charts.
And with Melodee and the band being nominated as “Best Live Act” and “Best Song” in the Exposure Music Awards, as well as having festivals and promoters already booking in their live dates – 2009 will be an exciting year for Melodee Rockmore and the band.
