Mahavira is a four piece London based alternative rock band. Breaking the current UK band mould, they have created what can only be summed up as an ear pleasing sound. Great melodies, harmonies, and not to forget all the little intricacies with time bending rhythms, leave you thirsty for another dose.

Mahavira began as a concept of fusing elements of Indian classical music with Rock music and to develop compositions, which would appeal to both music lovers and musicians alike. The group’s emotive, passionate sound and live presence has already drawn critical acclaim by both fans and the industry. In June 2008 a demo of their first single, “Mourning Star” was playlisted on BBC Asian Network’s Friction show that lead to being featured as Friction’s artist of the week as well as being interviewed by Bobby Friction himself.

Mahavira are currently in writing new material and preparing for upcoming performances in the Spring/ Summer.
