Travelling under the slightly bizarre moniker ‘Double THumb’ (we hope this isn’t a sexual reference), Val Del Prete is an Italian born singer, songwriter and producer who has already been compared to the likes of Bjork and Bat For Lashes.

Something of a virtuoso, Del Prete could play the piano by ear and sing in perfect pitch at the age of three. These days, wearing the Bjork and Kate Bush influences very much on her sleeve, her music comprises of complex and heartfelt lyrics, haunting vocal layers and ambient sounds.

Having already received strong support from BBC Radio 6 (“this is possibly the most assured debut recording we’ve heard by a UK artist since The Wizard by Bat For Lashes), Del Prete looks well on her way to competing with the some of the charts’ other young starlets. THumbs Up!
