‘I didn’t realise you wrote poetry; I didn’t realise you wrote such bloody awful poetry.’
It may have gained its name from a Smiths lyric, but this weekly indie night is as much about the poetry as it is about the music. What began as a weekly showcase (Thursdays at The Lock Tavern) for breaking bands, solo artists and the occasional more established act, BAP has gained an ardent following through London in recent times, and a reputation for unearthing up and coming talent.
It now hosts regular nights in venues all over the capital including The Hoxton Bar And Kitchen, The Enterprise, Punk and Madame Jojo’s, where resident DJs Keir Mills and Sagar Shah spin anything from 50s rock ‘n’ roll to 80s electro. We dare say Morrissey would have approved…
