Live review - Trouble Vision
Corsica Studios April 24 2009

by Rob Boffard, first published in LondonTourdates #046 ,8th May 2009

This is one of those gigs with DJs you’ve never heard of, that starts late and finishes early – and with a bizarre silent disco in one of the rooms. And it could’ve all turned out to be utterly dull, if it wasn’t for the venue and a cheeky choice of lineup.

Put simply, the Corsica Studios might not look like much, but the sound system in the grotty rooms is outstanding. It’s huge; you can feel the bass vibrating your stomach fluids from anywhere in the venue. And although the silent disco and the slightly dodgy techno in room two might not have been to our taste, in room one things were heating up very nicely indeed.

Oli DAB was playing the kind of squelchy, dance music that makes gigs like these come together. And although he was replaced by the slighty boring Solo, as the night (morning?) progressed towards Mowgli and Riva Starr it all came together beautifully. Go check Trouble Vision next time. It’ll be worth your while.
