Hafdis Huld - New album and live dates from Iceland's 'Madonna with a Banjo'.

An early cover star for londontourdates, Icelandic kook Hafdis Huld returns this year with a new album, which we hear is quite spectacular. In support of it she visits London in April for two shows. The first is at Soho’s Source Below (07956 818489) on 13 April, followed by a date at Bar Rumba (020 8471 5603) on 25 April.
The diminutive 29-year-old released her first record Dirty Paper Cup in 2006 on Red Grape Records, and was produced by Neill MacColl and Boo Hewerdine. Her new record could and should see her star rise considerably higher.
In recent times Huld has suffered from ill health (a 2007 UK tour had to be cancelled due to a lung infection) but she managed to contribute to last year’s Tricky album Knowle West Boy.
