Lilygun are a heavy alternative rock band with lots of hair who formed in 2002, when forceful and charismatic frontwoman Anna-Christina snagged three band mates, and away they went.

Her roots in classical music and partiality for aggressive rock n’ roll are what inform the band’s sound, as it did this lot’s otherwise slightly uninspiring name. Both lyrically and musically Lilygun are able to reach heights of poignant expression due to the fact that in 2005, Anna-Christina almost died.

We know not how, but we do know that she recovered to continue fronting the band she so lovingly formed. Lilygun release a single in ‘Diamonds’ next year, which they are putting out themselves, while they already have Time Out on their side [big deal - Ed] who said of the quintet: “Psych-metal-rock stars Lilygun are worth catching live any day of the week”.
