It’s the orchestra that does it.
That biblical, climactic orchestral sample that signals that, yes, this is unlikely to be the sort of track one cries to at 3am. More the sort of track that causes earthquakes. And hurricanes.
C-Lone’s monumental ‘Be Careful’ is as dope an opener as could be asked for on what is essentially a showcase EP.
Theories in Practice is a sampler for Headcount Records – compilation is too expansive a word. The outfit is home to Pneumatic and Sloth (interviewed in this publication earlier this year) purveyors of the great Audibly Nice LP. Pneumatic is on here, along with lieutenants Mr. Grieves, Illustrate and Rinse Dog; both are OK, but not quite as good as they could be, though Illustrate has a nice solo joint.
There are no new Pneumatic and Sloth joints on here (there is one from their album), which is a little disappointing. Doesn’t stop Theories being worth your cash. Watch this crew.
