Tronic Nexus are a London four-piece who, apart from having a questionable name, offer (according to Time Out) an ‘ambient prog’ sound, borrowing bits and pieces from prog juggernauts like King Crimson and as well as edgier modern rock like Mars Volta. Loud, moody and atmospheric might cover it.
They are dominated by the Noakes brothers – Robert on guitar and vocals and Richard on drums – and last month managed to pull off a gig at The Bull and Gate that was something of a big deal to the quartet, which saw them described as “an incendiary sensation composed from many powerful elements. Sci-fi, glam metal, moody ambience and classic rock flow in the current”. Sporadically gigging around London, the band are currently concentrating on recording and releasing their first EP. They are currently unsigned.
