Gene Linford is, snore, a sensitive young singer-songwriter from London. He has, however, been likened to slightly more innovative modern exponents of the genre like Fionn Regan or Ed Harcourt. But otherwise, yes, all his songs are love songs and yes, he has a nice floaty voice that points to a well of very, very deep feelings.

A bit harsh maybe, because Linford clearly has something going for him as he was short-listed for Best Male Solo Artist at the 2008 Indy Music Awards, and has recently played nights at the Old Queen’s Head and other small venues. With songs such as ‘Fallen’, ‘No More’ and ‘Don’t Lose Your Love’ Mr Linford is sure to make the ladies swoon, and given that he only started writing songs in 2007, all is not lost.
