Kings Of Leon was formed in 2000 by 3 brothers Caleb, Jared and Nathan Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill. Their music is influenced by their religious upbringing and their Southern roots. Nathan and Caleb also used to sing country music, they were also members of the West Tennessee Mass Choir for a short time and they sang at rodeos.Kings Of Leon got their start with their album ‘Youth and Young Manhood’ and rose to relative stardom, especially outside the United States, by being chosen by popular rock bands The Strokes and U2 to tour with them. Standout tracks included the lively ‘Molly's Chambers’, ‘California Waiting’ and ‘Red Morning Light’, which was used as the opening song for the videogame FIFA 2004.Their second album ‘Aha Shake Heartbreak’ was released in the United Kingdom in October 2004 to widespread acclaim. It was praised for its mix of garage rock and Southern swagger.The third album is currently in preparation but its release has been announced for Spring 2007.
