South London based music obsessives JC’s Flatline Junkies love to mix it up. Their sound? Well its been described as Floydesque, Doors-like, rock and roll. But they can’t resist a snatch of blues, jazz or funk when the mood takes them. Genre busting and original the Junkies are a great live act playing over 50 gigs in 2007 including London venues The Miller, The Comedy, The Watershed, The Bull and Gate, The Blacksheep Bar and Royal Holloway College. The band are often to be found playing at their spiritual home, Wimbledon’s Grove Tavern, at one of the regular ‘Saff City Boys’ events run by the legendary Bill Knox (founder of the Half Moon music nights). On 29th February 2008 they played The Jamm in Brixton supporting Alabama 3 (the guys who did the Sopranos soundtrack). Come and see them at Glastonbury or if you can't wait that long at the Barfly in Camden on 17 May.The Flatline Junkies are Alec Rahman-Jones (lead vocals and guitar), Luke Miles (lead guitar and vocals), Matt Edwards (bass) and Jason Hastings (drums). Former Ozric Tentacles front man, John ‘Champignon’ Egan often guests on flute as the fifth ‘Junkie’ and recorded the flute parts on their sensational debut album ’Brass Ladies and Butterflies’.
