Jakarta are a young band from Somerset formed in late November 2007. Practicing heavily until the end of the year 2008 then kicked off, playing over 20 gigs in their first full year. Jakarta are starting to gain themselves a loyal local fanbase. They have already started playing outside of their home town of Frome to audiences around Bath, Glastonbury, Misdomer Norton and Weston Super Mare. At the beginning of the year after only a few months of playing together Jakarta won two awards at the Strode Botb with legendary Michael Eavis on the panel of Judges. With gigs already booked for 2009 and many other exciting possiblities Jakarta are looking forward to an even busier year. Look out as their Heavy, energetic sound could be coming somewhere near you!
