IRRITANT
""It was the Law of the Sea, they said.Civilization ends at the waterline.Beyond that, we all enter the food chain, and not always right at the top.Hunter S. Thompson""
During the last four years IRRITANT have cultivated a unique musical style. They are successfully blending the best features of classic metal and progressive rock with a young fresh take on these legendary genres. With a series of successful independent releases, they have built a strong and loyal following. These include the “Old Bones” EP, selling in excess of 2000 copies without mainstream distribution. The video twinned with this release was also featured on Scuzz TV.Over the past year, IRRITANT have been consulting with the legendary producer Vic Coppersmith-Heaven (The Jam/Black Sabbath/Engineer to the Rolling Stones). The band collaborated with Vic to record their debut single, "Voice of The Siren". "Voice of The Siren" was the 4th highest new entry in June 31st's UK Chart, entering above artist's such as Enter Shikari. Over 7000 copies were sold in the first week, helping Irritant to become one of the first UK unsigned bands to grace the official UK chart."Voice Of The Siren" was recorded at Mayfair Studios, London, and is a firm favourite of both Total Rock Radio and Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden, played regularly on his BBC Radio 6 Show). The single has received worldwide airplay. The growing success of IRRITANT can be witnessed online. Both Myspace and www.irritantonline.com are currently receiving hundreds of hits a day; The band have clocked up in excess of 130,000 plays since January 06, with an ever growing mailing list of over 25,000 fans worldwide. In addition to a hardcore local fan base, the bands energetic live show has earned them nationwide admiration. They have shared the stage with bands such as Enter Shikari and Ill Nino. This culminated in IRRITANT being crowned “Best Band in the South West”; overcoming 15 of the regions best undiscovered musical talents in the Global Battle of The Bands.IRRITANT have also toured as main support to Losing Sun on this year’s Ed Stone Rockwear UK tour. The tour was fully sponsored by RockSound, Jägermeister, Dekline Footwear, Planet Loud, Scuzz TV & Total Rock Radio.
