Dear All!

Happy New Year to everyone & welcome to another update about what's happening in the musical world of HENRIK!

My aim for 2009 (and beyond) is to drop at least one proper update a month, the small bits in between I'll post here on the Facebook and Myspace networks so if you want to know when I wash my hair, watch Newsnight, go jogging on the old track and shit like that feel free to join me there.

This November gone saw the release of my debut album FACTION here in the UK through indie label Lojinx. Late in November I again had the pleasure of playing bass for US singer/songwriter Kim Richey (http://www.myspace.com/kimrichey). We did a handful of gigs in and around London with full band, flutes and all. Thanks to everyone who came and saw my own set I did with Alex Dickson & Paul Winter-Hart (as support for Kim) at The Borderline on 27th.

In December I teamed up with Farrah frontman Jez Ashurst, Kula Shaker drummer Paul Winter-Hart, Kim and Farrah member/producer & wizard Andrew Campbell at Diversion Studios in London Bridge to record my song 'IT'S CHRISTMAS BUT LISTEN!' for the 7 track Lojinx EP CHRISTMAS PRESENT, a FREE download for the festive season of 2008. If for some random reason you're still spinning 'Last Christmas' etc. the EP is still available here: http://www.lojinx.com/features/ljx016/. BTW by New Years Eve over 4000 people had downloaded the EP so thanks to all of you.

Before we got to the end of the year I had the slightly surreal pleasure of reuniting with my old 'school band' The Royals. We did a one-off show at Galaksen (http://www.galaksen.dk) just outside Copenhagen, Denmark on 27th December. Thanks to Morten, Anemonemand & everyone who came and made the evening a special one for me, Kasper, Nicolai and Michael. There'll be some more Royals (or Royalz) action when the time is right.

So here we are in 2009. News this week is that the kind people of THE WORD (http://www.wordmagazine.co.uk/content/now-hear) have my song 'TRY ME' on the CD that's out with the latest issue (February) of the magazine. Other artists on the CD incl. The Fireman aka Paul McCartney & Youth, The Milk & Honey Band and Swedish songbird Nina Persson's solo project A Camp. WORD man Rob Fitzpatrick also wrote a cool review of FACTION back in the December issue and in my next update we'll bring the best bits of the wide range of reviews FACTION has received over the last couple of months. Stay tuned!
