Mondays are rubbish. They come around too quickly and ruin your Sunday evening. They remind you of how much you hate your job and your boss. Enter then Fix Monday; four lads from Leamington Spa on a crusade to make Mondays, and every other day at that, a little more bearable.
Fix Monday's many influences include Jeff Buckley, Elbow and Queen. Their thoughtfully crafted songs find their way into your head and obstinately remain for some time after. The band has developed a reputation for its elaborate vocal harmonies and has been known to step off the stage and into the audience to sing unplugged anchored by a single guitar.
Not content waiting for a record label to sign them, Fix Monday started their own and signed themselves to it – through Sherpa Recordings the band released their debut single, the intriguingly titled 'Margaret Peterson', on 1st December 2008. In support of this they drove across the country in their white van packing out venues and gaining many new fans both locally and further afield.
The boys' fan base are now eagerly anticipating the arrival of Fix Monday's first physical release – a five-track EP available mid 2009.
