farOutlaw - singer songwriter, Justin Gibson - was born in West London where he lived for the first three years of his life before moving with his family to Coombe End in South Oxfordshire. Despite being surrounded by musicians, owing to his family’s involvement with WOMAD, it was not until he accidentally wrote a song that he discovered his own talent. The subsequent years have been spent writing and performing in various guises. In 1992 he teamed up with Sacha Churchill (son of Ten Year’s After Chick Churchill) and formed the band Lucid. They quickly made a name for themselves and within a year found themselves in negotiation with a major Japanese record company, but a lethal combination of youthful excess and professional naivety led to the bands sudden demise.
Undeterred Justin continued to develop his career, writing and performing solo. His work has led him to collaborate with a number of musicians and producers including Simon Emmerson(AfroCelt SoundSystem, Imagine Village), John Fortis ( Ellie Goulding , Razor Light), Future Sounds Of London and Sam Brown, whose tour he supported in 2000. He also enjoyed a brief stint with London’s electro acid punk rockers, groop.
farOutlaw is his latest solo project in which he fuses electronic music with his acoustic style to create a unique and disturbingly catchy sound. farOutlaw is currently working with producer Sam Williams- Supergrass, The Noisettes, Kula Shaker - on a debut solo album, scheduled for release later this year.
