Where do elbow rank in the list of legendary Manchester bands? Surely they are not as good as Joy Division, The Fall, The Smiths, Happy Mondays, Stone Roses, Oasis. Or are they? They are finally getting some critical acclaim...

"Melancholic and emotional guitar-based band from Manchester"

Elbow have been playing together 14 years. They signed in 1998 to Island Records. Were then dropped before anything was released in 2000. They re-signed in 2001 to V2 Records and their debut album, 2001’s “Asleep In The Back”, was acclaimed and nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. The second record, “Cast Of Thousands” was also very successful and they played their biggest ever UK gig at Brixton Academy on the tour for that record. The bands third record was their biggest release yet. "Leaders of the Free World" brought Elbow's crtically acclaimed melancholic and emotional sound to thousands.

Elbow have promised "big extravaganzas" with their next tour.
